Anxiety Feeds on Haste
Anxiety often grows when we rush through life, strive for perfection, fear failure, or feel pressured to meet expectations. In trying to control everything, we sometimes forget to pause and care for ourselves.
Sometimes, the best thing you can do is slow down.
When you feel overwhelmed, relax your shoulders, hands, wrists, forehead, and feet. Take a few gentle breaths and bring your attention to the present moment. You don't have to solve every problem at once.
Anxiety can be influenced by trauma, perfectionism, leadership pressure, fear of failure, and hurtful words. Recognising your triggers helps you respond with greater awareness rather than allowing fear to control your actions.
Remember, failure is part of growth, not proof of inadequacy. And although people may speak negatively about you, their words do not have to become your identity. Let your faith guide you, and choose self-talk rooted in truth, hope, and compassion.
You cannot always control what happens around you, but you can learn to treat yourself differently.
Today, slow down. Breathe. Give yourself room to make mistakes, learn, and grow.
Ask yourself: What am I saying to myself today, and are those words helping me heal or making me afraid?
Sometimes, peace begins with a pause.
